Have your pick of either Option O’s perfected 98mm screwed-on Omni burrs or the all-new 102mm blind burrs on the 01. The new blind burrs option not only breaks boundaries in terms of raw power and size, but its maximum grind surface area due to the loss of screws ensures the cleanest grind you can ever achieve. Truly, it has quite pushed the envelope.
Overhaul in design and aesthetics – the design team at Option O wanted a seamless, tool-less user experience unlike any of its predecessors. It allow for users to maintain the grinder with a tool-less disassembly system. Even considerable thought has been given into the calibration process, where a consistent grind setting can be quickly established across multiple grinders on the fly. This is extremely useful if there’s a preferred grind setting that you’ll like to experiment across a variety of beans. You can now calibrate easily without the need of stickers, helped by the improved visibility of the grind setting from the front.
Don’t fix what ain’t broken – Option O has retained the best bits of the P100 such as the auto-purge function, the safety limiter lock on the P64 by preventing below zero adjustments and then delivered on a whole new level.
Approaching on a static and retention free system – Great care have been taken from users feedback to ensure static reduction within the chamber and ensure as minimal grounds get left over on the walls as possible. In addition, beta users from the Neat Clicker Test Program would do well to remember that the feedback provided during the testing have gone into an all-new chute knocker design. It now utilises magnets-assisted on the mechanism and takes overall less effort to free remaining grounds left in the chute.
Modularity is king, no more cookie cutter – the portafilter holding area has been transformed into a modular system allowing for users to grind directly into the portafilter for espresso based usage or into dosing cups for filter and brewing applications. The holder has been designed to integrate Option O’s provided 58mm dosing cup as well as 3rd party options on the market. The height has been carefully reduced to reduce incidents of cups dropping from great height. Again, the design aesthetics of the 01 oozes seamless workflow all over.
Keep in mind that if you have an existing P100 model purchased earlier, you’ll be able to take advantage of the new 98mm Omni burrs for a swap. We hear that Option O will be making extra effort to ensure a refitting kit will be available in the pipeline for existing P100 users to integrate the new Neat Clicker system.
